Yeah, I read that with some interest. I mostly thought NOW THEY TELL ME. I need to schedule an annual check up anyway.

I'm not really sure if there is anything to do about this...if I get to the point that I need the antibotics, unless there is some advance with a new superdrug I don't know about, only Cipro will knock the infection out. Most of the time we use Levaquin, but when that doesn't work, Cipro is pretty much all that is left. Grrr...

Cipro is a favored antibiotic for Crohn's patients. I however am allergic to it and have only ever had the one dose that gave me the full body hives after surgery number 1.

Sorry for the sucky news but hopefully they will understand the link better soon and be able to counteract it!!!

Dude, I was on Levaquin once with my post-Pennsic respiratory funk and it made all my joints hurt like hell. I read that as one of the severe side effects and banned my MD from ever giving it to me again.
