When I saw the preview cap, the same to you, I was a bit disappointing since I saw back band. But when actually watched the show, I was so relieved when I realize familiar faces.
I love the intro part of M, with Chris Heart (or Hart I dont remember). It seems that he is (one of) the regular artist of this KanJam, that means we will meet him more on KanJam.
Nishino Kana is my rarely favorite female singer in Japan, but I swear I love this Darling version. The harmony of Yasu and Subaru was just ...melting. Since Kana's voice is high and pure, a harmony with lower tone in male's voice make this song more gentle to hear, with me.
The show is aired on 11:30pm Sunday in Kanto area but in Kansai where I am living, it is aired on 2:30am the next Monday. Although I can download it later but I decide to set up alarm to watch this, hoping my little rating will make broadcaster to push this show on the same time with Kanto area. This show deserves it.
Chris Hart is a regular? Oh, that's great! He's a good singer, I'll be happy to see more of him.
I listened to the original version of Darling after hearing the KanJAM version one (or ten... ahem) times. I like this one better, as well. The male voices ground it, in comparison the original seems a bit too airy/girly/highpitched for my liking.
Oh, getting up a 2:30 at night to watch this show, that's what I call dedication! *high five*

Furuta & Sugimoto are great co-hosts & balance each other out. Sugimoto is charmingly clumsy and Furuta is charmingly well-spoken. He's pretty famous in the theater/comedy circles & I've been a fan of his. I couldn't be any happier with them as co-hosts.
I agree that the ambiance is wonderful. All the hosts have the quiet confidence of mature adults. They can be compelling without resorting to comedic Osakan stereotypes or over the top humor. AMEN to your lists of things that did not happen. I'm so happy that the focus is definitely on the music. (PS. Mature female musicians are my favorite <3) I'm more familiar with older artists than recent ones so this show definitely caters to my musical interests

Yeah, you're right, I hadn't thought about it but Furuta is very well-spoken.
Let's see how long KanJam's focus stays exclusively on music. It only took three episodes until the first food segment, and it looks like next week we learn all about kitchen helpers. Oh well, I've long since accepted that very few Japanese shows can do completely without gourmet or telemarketing segments. As long as they don't go overboard, I can live with it.
I laughed out loud (writing it out because I actually made noises irl and all) at musically-oriented Eighters being "street". I think most of us have musical backgrounds that make us the least "street" ever. XD But I get what you mean. And to me, too, musician fans are the ones I talk to easiest and connect with quickly. There are more out there than you'd expect but they're scattered and not all of them are active. The trick is to do a Yasu when you find one.
