I did feel sorry for the Brazilians though. The thrashing they got took the world completely by surprise.

And I love a good orchestra sound. I remember didn't some of Nodame Cantibile have such a mix in their orchestra too? I love both the live action series and the anime too! Aahhhh nostalgia.

Happy summer dear. *HUGS* - because of the upcoming exams ... my children haven't been practicing their trombones ... I hope they remember how to play still. Well I will cajole them back into practice when they have some time.

So do I, and so do a lot of Germans. I was ecstatic at the 3-0, thinking that's it, we've won this game, but it turned into dread, shock and pity when they so easily kept on scoring.
Germany had a very similar experience in 2006, if not quite as bad. The German players remembered it, too (a lot even were in the team back then), and acted accordingly: no one was gloating, some even comforted the Brazilian players.
I'm still happy. The German national team got a make-over in 2006, new trainer/players/strategies/philosophy... and has made second and third places in European and World Championships since then. It's overdue that they win and things are looking very good for them. Let's hope they beat Argentina on Sunday!

Nodame Cantabile featured symphonic orchestras, which consist of strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion, sometimes with additional harp or piano. Symphonic winds is the same without strings. I think the only music group without strings in Nodame was a chamber music ensemble in one of the movies, with that gloomy oboe ( ... )
