I'm sure you're all excited to welcome a new instrument permanently into the Kanjani8 band formation: the trumpet! I thought I'd take the chance to tell you some things about it because while everyone has held a guitar before, knows how a drum set works and understands the principle of a keyboard, wind instruments are a complete mystery to many, ( Read more... )

I know about embouchure ... ^_^ my two play the trombone for their school brass band ... yeah I noticed that they added the trumpet.

Sometimes I wish that the Arashi fellas would play other instruments. (I like that both Nino and Sho play the piano and Nino does play guitar) But I wish that Aiba was well enough to take up the sax again or say if Ohno were to pick up something like I dunno ... the clarinet or something ... I would totally be his forever. (I don't play by the way, but I have a fondness for wind and brass instruments. Probably due to my dad's old Big Band LP's that he used to play to us at home.)

Both your kids play the trombone? Awesome. Trombone rocks!

Did Sho ever play the piano in a concert? He did for 24h TV, right? And in, what was it called, that drama he did with Nino.

I, too, would love it if Arashi learned (more) instruments but I don't see it happen. Jun is too much of a perfectionist, he would only allow himself to play in front of others if he was really good, and he probably hasn't got the time right now to learn an instrument to that point. Aiba can't play any wind instrument in his condition and I think Ohno would lose interest fast.
Then again, I would never have Yoko expected to pick up the trumpet, so who knows what's possible...

Yeah Sho played the piano ... he did for one 24hr TV segment, he played (rather princely I might add) for Kouhaku a couple of years back and yes he played in Yamada Tarou as well. I don't think he has ever played an instrument for a concert although Aiba did play the Kiiroi Namida song on guitar for his solo in the first Dome concert.

Yoko sounds accomplished on it ... (I saw them MSte the other day, not a new one he as didn't play) and I saw them again on a segment on Shonen Club Premium and he played then. I was quite impressed I must say.

Do you know if he picked it up out of interest or will he play a trumpet player in a movie/drama/play? ^__^ I'd love to see that!

Ahahaha ... I think Arashi should play colour coordinated ukuleles in a concert for us because that would be awesome! ^__^

I dimly remember seeing footage of Aiba playing the sax in some concert, too. The special where he learned it was on the All or Nothing DVD, I guess it was that very concert ( ... )
