Now you didn’t think I would drop the Rove debate, did you? You are wrong and you are right. No, Rove did nothing illegal and yes he is going to get off. Use you head man, lets assume this was a intentional leak, do you honestly think the top political advisor would be the one doing the dirty work? No it would be a loyal lower level staffer. Rove is smart enough to know that if something illegal is going on, that you need plausible deniability. This brings me to my next argument, there is absolutely no evidence that Rove was the one that leaked the story to Novak, or Miller. I will get to two points on this. One, If Rove was the one that leaked the story to Miller, then why did Copper’s source allow him to testify, but Miller’s didn’t? The easiest answer to that, is that there have been at least two different sources. Now this is the important part, the only evidence of Rove’s involvement is him having talked to Copper, who received the email while he was writing about the Novak story. Futhermore Rove never mentions “Mrs Wilson’s”

lol i mean come on the leak is what a concidence? Not to likely given Rove's political tactics and his method of smearing political opponets. Here is what my guess is, conservatives were trying to discredit wilson, and decided to do so by saying his wife got him the job. "Wilson's not qualified to report on this, his wife who works for the CIA got him the job, Iraq may have bought uranium from niger." Then once Novak's article was published everyone went "oh shit" we just leaked a CIA agent's identity

You pose the question of what is to be done? Well the question is truly, what is a pragmatic political solution. I honestly do not know the answer to that question. I know that i fundamentally disagree with neo conservatism since i am more from the Joseph S. Nye Jr. school of thought on softpower and multilateralism. So with this in mind I tend to support Democrats more since their stance on foreign policy and because they do not cater to the christian right. I still realize that the same fear and manipulation will also be used by a democratic president, but i think that it will be used less so and that a more multilateral foreign policy will be pursued. Even a multilateral foreign policy contradicts the ideas of many critical theorists but it's better than neoconservatism
