“We know that larger-size women will pay almost anything for good-quality clothes that fit, and luxury brands could benefit greatly from serving that need,”
Seriously.
Did you hear about the Ralph Lauren model that got fired b/c she didn't fit the sample sizes anymore? They downsized the samples to a size 0 or something like that! She was VERY svelte but just couldn't fit in a 0. Ridiculous.
no, i didn't hear about it. i am pumped that Glamour is getting on board though! I'm going to read Hungry by crystal renn, one of the plus size models from the photo shoot mentioned in the article. it looks SO good.
I saw that! Because if your head isn't bigger than your pelvis you're a fatty, fatty, fat, fat! Here's an article about her: http://jezebel.com/5376418/ralph-laurens-ridiculous-photoshop-more-ridiculous-rage Before they fired her, they photoshopped the hell out of her to the point of ridiculousness. Bodies that actual humans have are never good enough.
I think it's sad that our definition of beauty is so narrow that it's revolutionary to photograph incredibly stunning women who are, holy flapjacks, between sizes 10 and 14. But I'm a curmudgeon. Let us know how the book is.
