[Seventh Flight] [Audio]

My apologies if this is an odd question, but the calendar I was able to find on the communicator device is unfamiliar to me.

How does time apply here, with regards to our home worlds? Back home, the year was starting to turn again, but here it seems to be the height of summer... Which, come to think of it, means that my birthday might be around this ( Read more... )

Neither am I, Pamela, to be honest. It only struck me because of the weather; nothing like what I would have expected back home.

[He can't help it; he laughs at that.]

I suppose that's one way of looking at it! And thank you for the good wishes, even if I'm still not sure if this birthday counts.

The calendar used here is different to your world's, too?

And please, don't call me sir. My name is Twig, that will be fine.

I find it very confusing. I've taken to trying to work out the dates based on the cycle of the moon, but it's difficult.

I wonder why everything here seems to be aimed at people from a certain kind of world, when there are people from so many different places aboard?

Well they're different worlds. They should have different seasons.

And there's nothing wrong with celebrating two birthdays!

Hmm, I suppose. I should be used to the strangeness by now, but little things keeps catching me off-guard.

Well, I haven't really celebrated my birthday in a few years. It would just feel odd to be seventeen so soon after being sixteen.

Heh, I guess your right. So maybe you could skip one?

And as for time back home, well... It's hard to explain heh.

A friend of mine arrived months after I did and he's come from a time a year before mine.

I think that's what I'll do. By the sounds of this voyage so far, I'll probably still be here next year anyway.

And that... I'd like to say that such strangeness with time is impossible, but from what I've seen on this ship, I'm hesitant to call anything impossible.

So, people you know can come aboard the ship after you... but from a time before when you arrived?

[Because if so, his day is made so hard.]
