Wow! Actually I had heard recently that breast cancer comes in many different forms, but never heard about this type! I will definitely pass this on! Thanks for posting it.

Ya know, it's not enough there are already several types of breast cancer, uterine cancer, cervical cancer, etc. that can kill us...now there has to be a type that's undetectable? Lovely.

Is this nature's way of thinning out the female population?

There are certain symptoms but evidently a lot of docs haven't heard about IBC, not even some cancer institutes that the tv station called. So the docs tend to put it off to something else much less serious.
The symptoms are a slightly enlarged breast, nipple inverted, rapid increase in breast size, redness, skin hot to the touch, persistent itching, an orange peel texture to the breast and thickening of breast tissue. But I guess you don't necessarily have to have all at once.
One of the people they interviewed, her doc thought it was a reaction to a bug bite.
