Classic slash fic?

Can you guys recommend the well known "classic" Johnlock fics? They can also be gen (but with preferably good, strong, friendship moments) fics. Basically just fics that if you are a long time member of the BBC Sherlock community you have heard of these fics.

I'd recommend you check out the fics by verityburns (The Heart In The Whole, The Green Blade, etc). Also, there are some classic Johnlock fics on my dark rec list (but as the title says, they are mostly dark, so mind the warnings).

Seconding the recommendation for verityburns' fics. Also anything by BeautifulFiction, earlgreytea68, SilentAuror, SailorChibi, and irisbleufic. Oh, and "Northwest Passage" by Kryptaria. All of these authors may be found on AO3. :)

Also if you go to the search page on AO3 and search for completed fics with Sherlock Holmes/John Watson as the pairing and set kudos to >2000, you should pretty much get all the best known ones. :)

I actually requested "Saddest fic you've ever read" at an earlier point and was recommended Alone on the Water. It was sad, but so beautifully written. It's one of my favorites. :)
