Out of interest, did you ever see the documentary "Beyond the Clouds" produced and directed by Phil Agland (broadcast in the US as "China: Beyond the clouds", not sure what, or if, it was broadcast as in Oz) which centred on Lijiang as it was back in the late 80s and early 90s?
