SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Nov 01, 2005 12:50

I am making this a public post and will be linking it from the community userinfo.

The major point to remember is that I will be doing a select-all on the file you send me and dumping it into the LJ online update form (or Semagic). Hence your submission must be ready to post to Livejournal.

Oh, right, of course you can. (The anonymice thus far made LJs for the purpose of commenting in the comm, so the issue hasn't come up yet. XD)

Multiple stories for one issue is okay, but the precedent is that you pick a different pseud for each. XD

Illustration question: is it ok if we have illustrations of our own (or, rather, begged from friends), rather than from the appointed illustrators for the Animal Kingdom issue? I've got some friends who'll draw me stuff, and I wanted to make sure that it was ok to have non-approved illustrators do illustrations.

Of course it's fine to have your own illustrations or from friends! ^^ There are no appointed illustrators per se, I just made a list of people who offered in the comment thread. XD

okey dokey. I figured that that was the case, but I just wanted to make sure. ^___^ Thanks!

Is there a size limit on illustrations? Also, is it permissible to have a small version of the pic in the story file, with a link to a better, bigger version?

No size limit on illustrations (except for title bars, they're always kept behind a cut). You can format them any way you want. ^^

If I'm having someone else do an illustration for my story, how do you want it submitted? Would you prefer both illustration and story in the same e-mail, or is separate okay? Would her including the story title and my user/penname in the header be enough?

If she has it done before or by the same time as your story, it would be most efficient for you to send it to me as an attachment in the same email as your story - specify how she's to be credited and where the image is to be placed in the text. If you two don't finish at the same time (which often happens XD) you can send it after, or she can send it separately, as long as she specifies what story/author it accompanies (and once again, her credit name and where the picture should be placed).
