Looking ahead to next year, we of the editorial staff have been considering and reconsidering a lot of the ways SSBB gets run. We want to keep this project going strong, but due to a number of real-life changes and challenges, certain practices have become unsustainable. While I'm positively delighted that SSBB is opening up to queer content all the time in general, please consider adding markers for what kind of relationships are included in a story. I know SSBB has always taken a more 'at own risk' attitude towards content labels, but fir example I personally cannot read smut in certain configurations for personal reasons and would hate to get emotionally invested in good writing before having to nope out super fast.

Also, while it help people like me to curate their reading safely, it also might help people who have little time and are looking FOR specific realtionships in an issue.

In this case, your best bet is probably to go to the issue's wiki pages first and see what the authors have listed for their own stories. That's a good way to make sure the editors aren't imposing categories the creators wouldn't themselves have wanted, while also respecting those who just don't want to say, period. It's not often that someone's gender and/or genital situation warrants a reveal later in a story, but it happens, and I wouldn't want to spoil a surprise. Plus, labels often get tricky with speculative fiction, and that's even before alien bodies get involved ( ... )

Three fewer issues to contribute to a year is going to be a wonderful respite for overachievers like me. While I'm probably going to err on the side of fiction instead of comics for Decembers, I've already got some story ideas in my head that I'm excited to see how I can work into next year's themes!
