MODPOST: Prompt Submissions

Jul 14, 2009 23:51

Prompt submissions will be open from now until August 5th wherever you are and will be screened - the prompt masterlist will go up a few days after prompt submissions end and then will come the prompt claiming.

Anyone can submit as many prompts as they like - with no obligation to write anything in return - as long as they follow the few simple rules.

1. They must be for an appropriate character for the ficathon. Example categories:
  • disliked/hated (by fandom or in the narrative)
  • morally questionable/grey
  • anti-heroes
  • henchmen
  • villains
  • those generally considered monsters or physically abnormal for their apparent species
  • creatures/animals
  • usually good characters becoming one of the above

2. The format for a prompt should be as follows.

Fandom (Media) - full name of the fandom in question.

Media is for fandoms which span across several types like anime AND manga, so this is if you want to specify which. e.g. you can have Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Movie, Buffy the Vampire Slayer - TV or Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Comics. Many fandoms also have tie-in games and novels and you can specify those too, though please use the title as a subtitle e.g. Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds (game).

Main characters/pairing - pick some characters, a species or a pairing. You can also leave it blank and up the writer if you wish.

Prompt - this can be a few words, a phrase, quotes, lyrics, a specific scenario. Overall it should be a couple of lines maximum though. Image links are okay but we need a rough description for it too and warnings if NSFW or potentially triggery content.

Example prompt submission:

Fandom: Babylon 5 (TV Show)
Main characters/pairing: Shadow allies
Prompt: “Life without love is a shadow of things that might be”

Fandom: ()
Main characters/pairing:
