Prompt: How to pass the ages

This'll most likely either turn out to be a crack!fic or something oddly introspective, knowing me, but either way, it's the only one I could actually decide on. I'll try to get it started ASAP (I've got a long plane ride ahead of me this weekend, so that should give me plenty of timeto get the bare bones laid down). Thanks in advance!
