Awesome. Glad you had a good time. Florida has great wild life and you got to see some of the best. Osprey are everywhere down here and bald eagles are not that rare. Luckily they've never been trouble for my pigeons. I've never seen a shuttle launch in person and hope to one day.

The shuttle program is shutting down soon -- I think there're only three more launches scheduled. It's gonna be terrible economically for the county where most of the scientists work.

I see osprey fairly regularly here, but never bald eagles. Any raptor sighting is so exciting to me. We've a red-shouldered hawk or two that sing over our area frequently, but I've yet to see them.

Do you've homing pigeons? I did some reading on pigeons a couple years ago for research for a story I was writing. I saw pictures and video of some racing types that did somersaults in the air.

I'm on the west coast and I have seen shuttles launch. We hear them landing too because of the sonic booms. Night launches are cool but I've never had the pleasure of seeing it up close.

Reshoulders are great because they are so vocal. I like all raptor sightings too.

Yes, they are homing pigeons. Homers are the only pigeons that return home. You must have seen the tumblers. All those are rock doves which are the wild pigeons you see walking around. I have some pet wild pigeons that fly with my flock too. They are wonderful birds. Nothing like letting a bird fly and having it return to you.
