I have been reading Lord Hornblower on my lunch break at work. This was a mistake, because I just got to The Bad Part. Now I have to sip my coffee and face the wall so people won't see me crying.

Absolutely. I think this was my least favorite book in the series. First The Bad Thing - how can there even be another book after The Bad Thing happens?!? And coming up next he's going to cheat on Barbara. Again. I just have to tell myself that this is all an AU of what might have happened if The Other Bad Thing had really happened, which of course it didn't. Archie's alive, and Bush is alive, and poor little Wellard too, and they are all living happily ever after, and between the three of them they never let Mr Grumpy Britches stay grumpy for long. The End.

And also, Juliet woke up five minutes earlier, and she and Romeo also lived happily ever after. Just to clear everything up. The End.

Which is good, since it's heavily based on the Eglantinad! I come back and read your Horatio/Archie to cheer myself up when I've had too much angst elsewhere. Angst is like iron supplements - very good for you in moderation, but overdosing is not advisable.
