I AM OBSESSED WITH THIS. This is the third or fourth time I've read the first act. This is everything I could ever ask for in an AU. I'm bad with surprises so I've been telling myself that it ends in tragedy because I don't want to get my hopes up. But honestly... there are not words to describe how much I am in love with this fic.

Aw, thank you very much! I am glad you have enjoyed the first act enough to reread it :)

I am working on the second act as we speak so hopefully it will be up--soonish?

LOVE THE FIC but confused as to where it takes place. Is it NY/NJ area? Is Bellevue referring to the hospital in NY or Washington state?

I'm glad you're enjoying the story!

Yes, this takes place in NJ/NY, but I intentionally scrambled the geography and a lot of the names. So don't look too deeply into what the names of places are; all the towns and cities are based on real places in NJ/NY, but they aren't named after them. In this story, Bellevue is where Eames' manor is located.

As a native tri-state'er, that initially confused me as well, I must admit. I'm sure people outside of the area wouldn't even think twice about it, but I totally did : )

I've been reading this fic for a while now, waiting (im)patiently for every new installment, and I still have one word for it: beautiful. That's what this story is. All the characters, all the small details, people's backgrounds. And the gorgeous ambiguity: I ache for these characters, but every now and than I have to stop and ask: wait, are these people really worth my sympathy? They are not good people, not at all. But damn, I can't help it!

So, I was reading the latest Act and then I had this urge: I desperately want to translate this marvelous story into Russian. But, of course, only if you are okay with that. I do realize that such a work should be cherished, and you might not want other people to mess with it. But if you do grant your permission, I will do my best to share all the beauty of the text with the Russian fandom - unfortunately, many people there cannot speak English, so there is no chance for them to enjoy this fic now.
Thank you anyway :)

That's definitely something I like to write about--because people aren't so easily divisible into "Good People" versus "Bad People"; we're all just people, capable of both good and bad acts. The most generous, morally upright person can still lie on their taxes or kill a man, and a hardened criminal can still love animals and donate to charity. In this story, the main characters do some pretty reprehensible things but at the end of the day, they're still people, with flaws and pettiness and redeeming qualities and surprising moments of selflessness. Such is the beauty and contradiction of the human condition ( ... )

I love how you reflect on the idea, but I love even more how you manage to translate the abstract idea into quite feasible images and characters.

Thank you so much for the permission. I will start translating it and posting in installments - just like you do - and I will provide the link once the first part is there :)

I love your story! I’d like to share my likings and impressions so I posted kind-of review on tumblr (http://pthah.tumblr.com/post/17098895369/favourite-inception-fanficion) on your and a number of other stories. I hope you don’t mind but if you do, please tell me and I’ll fix it. If I’ve made some mistakes in the interpretation of your story, please tell me and I’ll fix it, too)))) Again, very marvelous work, don’t stop creating)
