All right, so it wasn't exactly safe out there, and it was wet. That didn't matter; this futuristic Tokyo reminded her of home. The warehouse district on the island was fine, most nights, but shooting a grapple line from the top of one skyscraper to swing to the rooftop of the next came with a rush (adrenaline and fear, both of them addicting in ( Read more... )

"Why am I not surprised to find you out here?" Tony asked, much less annoyed by the rain. The suit was awesome for so many reasons.

Don't ask how he found her. It would probably be considered creepy and like a stalker.

A stalker with an awesome, flying suit of armor that let him fly. Somehow, this didn't stand out in this version of Japan.

She knew Bruce Wayne and Tim Drake, Tony. Stephanie's sense of 'creepy and stalkerlike' wasn't entirely what it should be.

"Funny," she replied, dropping to sit cross-legged on the edge of the roof. "I'm not exactly shocked to find you out here either."

Thanks for that, Tony; Stephanie wouldn't have been able to pull you back up if you'd fallen.

"In this place?" Stephanie waved a hand to indicate the city at large. "Probably easier to pick out the legal things happening."

Bobby couldn't say what it was that drew him out there, exactly. Maybe it was for similar reminded-of-home reasons. Maybe it was because the driving rain was infinitely more preferable to the dry heat of Egypt. But when he spotted a figure in a mask and a cape standing atop one of the rooftops, he had to slide on over.

"You know, most people check out a new city on a tour bus," he felt compelled to point out. Because they were so totally not most people.

"Pfft. The tour guides never give you the really interesting details," Stephanie retorted, waving a hand . . . then actually waving at him. "Or the view from way up here."

"Well, I dunno," Iceman tapped his chin thoughtfully. "If any place is bound to have flying tour buses, it'd probably be this one."

"They probably go pretty fast, too," Stephanie Robin agreed with a speculative grin. "What if we hitched a ride on the roof?"
