But I think that's exactly right - we have to strive for balance. Balancing moving your ass with having a treat sometimes, not every freaking minute. As I'm training for this last ALC, I'm realizing that endurance athletics are not for me anymore. I'll do it, but I think I'm more inclined to look at smaller, more reasonable efforts going forward.

balance indeed. i bought a trainer for my bike a couple of weeks ago because i missed the biking. all i've been doing for the past year was powerlifting and not much energy to do anything else. meet you in the middle, eh?

I totally agree with this! Everything you eat can't be 100% healthy or junk food. I feel the best when I eat right, but have a beer now and then... with potato chips :)

That suggests that you needed meat in your diet and, possibly, more sugars and carbohydrates. Diabetics have to control the latter, but among those who process sugars normally are a group who cannot function without them.

meat? no. remember, i was paleo, which in certain circles means ALL MEAT ALL THE TIME. i eat meat like nobody's business. its totally the sugars and carbs - those i was restricting for a couple of years. my new diet is Eating Like A Normal Person and I am perfectly content with that.

Right, I remember now. Sorry, been away off and on lately.

I've been eating less bread in the past couple of years, but I'm finding that my body really likes multigrains for some reason. There must be something in the proteins or the nutrients, or literally, the starches that I need.
