I went up to Richardson, TX over the weekend for Dallas Comic Con, wearin' my "Team Edward" t-shirt, to meet Edward James Olmos & Luciana Carro. Took a few snapshots while I was up there, and thought I'd share 'em.
Much more elegant-looking backdrop than the crappy Toronto Fan Expo. Do you folks have your convention in what looks like a giant warehouse, cut off from sunlight? We do.
This convention was held at the Richardson Civic Center, which would also be city hall. The Q&A's & costume contests were held in the same room as city council meetings. And the media guest area was a side hallway between the Q&A's & the dealer room.
Thankfully, it was the last show that DCC will host there.
I'm sure city hall is nicer than the dungeon of a convention center we have in Toronto. Do you normally have your conventions is places nicer than suited for politicians?
(I see your avatar. That must be so cool to meet Rene Auberjoinois; I'd LOVE to meet him!)
Well, I've been to cons held in hotels, convention centers, and city hall. A couple of weeks ago, I was at Bubba Ho-Tep Fest, a one day event held in a college lecture hall, of all damn places. So, no dungeons yet.
And Rene Auberjonois is pure class, the nicest guy around, and was at the top of my "Want to Meet" list because Constable Odo is my favorite Trek character ever. He didn't disapoint at all. He even liked my baseball jersey (the back of it has my online name instead of my real one).
Awesome pictures! Luciana looks beautiful as always. About your shirt. I wore the same on on FedCon in Bonn and I was frequently asked were I got it. I really can't remember what online shop I got it from. Do you?
As far as I know, there are two ways to get it. The first is through the website that made 'em, HijinksEnsue. The second is through EJO's website, which links back to HijinksEnsue, but part of the proceeds go to charity that way.
Not sure which my friend used when she bought me the shirt for Christmas.
