"Science of Battlestar Galactica takes readers across the spectrum of science issues in the show, from planetary science to physics and technology to life science. Can Cylon blood cure cancer? Is FTL technology really just teleportation or is it a time machine? What is the origin of life on Kobol? What is a nuclear winter and what are the effects of nuclear weapons on a planet? How does Gaius Baltar's Cylon-detector work? Is a dwindling population of 39,000 people genetically viable for the human race to survive?

With a foreword from BSG co-executive producer Jane Espenson (well-known TV writer/producer for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Gilmore Girls), fascinating behind-the-scenes trivia and anecdotes from co-author and BSG scientific advisor Dr. Kevin Grazier, and breezy writing from Wired “What’s Inside?” contributing editor Patrick Di Justo, The Science of Battlestar Galactica is must-have for every BSG fan."

"Science of BSG" will be published by Wiley in April 2009.
