The Christmas spirit is good and dead in Schaumburg. I think my next-door neighbor is the only person in town (with the probable exception of Vince's mum) who strung up a couple lights. Schaumburg (that I had to Google...), is the anti-Drimnagh.
People out there have elevated Christmas decoration to an extreme level of kitsch competition. It gets more over-the-top every year, and they usually pick a winner. Drimnagh becomes some kind of Christmas Irish Las Vegas.
It's not beautiful. But, it's worth a drive through if but for the sake of a good laugh -cause it's unbelievable- and an interesting sociological study ahahaah
