I just read a couple of posts about things like accepting pain and reclaiming power by fighting the victim role, and I have to say I'm conflicted. It's brought up a lot of different thoughts; some good, some bad. Some people will see this post as pure angst, but I was aiming for reflection. If you think this will upset you, please skip it

Interestingly, first job that comes to my mind, considering the earphones and standing limitations, is: taxi driver.
Or... live-in nurse/nanny?
Just brainstorming.

Are you interested in library work? It'd be a quiet environment, won't require long periods of time standing on your feet, and you don't wear headsets. Also, depending on where you work and on the time of day, the library can be a fairly relaxing, stress-free job. Just a thought.
Talk to me (I can e-mail you my cell number) if ever you need to get things off your chest. I am always here for you.

I especially hate the quantum mysticism shit. Do you know how much room to create your own reality is afforded by quantum mechanics? 6.626068 × 10-34 m2 kg / s. Do you have any idea how small that is? Nobody has an idea how small that is, it's that small! (Being able to calculate with it doesn't count as having an idea.) Oh, and even within that incomprehensibly small amount of wiggle room, you don't get to decide what happens, it's just random! I'll ground my free will in the classical laws of cause and effect, thanks!
It sounds like both standing up and wearing a headset are things that you can't do for very long at a time? Could you do a little of each, mixed up so that your various bits get time to recover?

I do like the Serenity thing myself, but for me most of it consists of "accepting the things I cannot change" like chronic pain and fatigue. And fear.
I don't have anything helpful to add, but again: I hear you.
