I am worried about the upcoming election for California's Governor. I have heard people rant about Meg Whitman and her views on things and i haven't liked what I've heard, but that isn't what is worrying me as much as she is the only one i have been hearing from. every commercial on this election is either her commercial promoting herself or one ( Read more... )

Nope, just her name. Over and over and over... I'm betting the rest are saving their $$ for a last minute push, as the last name heard is usually the one that sticks. But she's going to feel so "familiar" by then, I'm not sure it'll work. Frightening.

I do not like talking politics among friends, though I am going to slightly stray from this. I do not like people who say we need to replace politicians with themselves as a new option, because truthfully aren't they trying to become politicians and aren't politicians who we need in politics? If we needed an inexperienced politician who is a good business person would we not most likely want them on a city council or as a mayor of a medium metropolitan area? The last place I would want them would be as Governor of the largest populated State in the Union. I do not as well like people who belittle others to prove a point one politician to another and one group of society to another. Take for example those on welfare - are they truly the scourge of society? I think not and the former business person touting a change to the welfare system has damned these people as a group without consideration of circumstance. She should remember that though they are on welfare, they are cousins, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, brothers, sisters, ( ... )

My understanding is that she has tons of money, and plans to throw it all at the race.

I haven't seen or heard any ads from her, but that's because I don't watch tv, and I only listen to music on the radio (change the channel when it's a commercial). I've seen things on the Internet and it seems like most of us Tea Party people don't like her. I haven't done any other research yet though.

She learned a lot from Arnold iamraffiki March 2 2010, 23:40:21 UTC
A lot of Arnold's campaign momentum was won on name recognition alone. It looks like she's trying for a similar coup by making sure her name is the best known on the ballot.

Arnold didn't get elected on his political office skills.
