Look... this isn't an excuse or anything, but... he has this whole complex about failing to protect people. It happened during the journey in our world, and then again, a while ago when an enemy turned me against our friends... this was before we ever came here...

... and before Taichi's own demon seal.

He takes all of this personally. The thing got forced on him, to hurt someone he cares about. How much he hates people who give into it willingly, and with all of that screaming in his head...

Pert of him not reaching out to any of you is because he doesn't know you well enough. Part of it is because he figures you have enough on your plates without worrying about some DATS agent who botched an assignment...

I fucked up just as much as he did... even if I did do a pretty decent job tearing down Jake's ego.

Most people don't realize that Quatre and I barely survived two wars together. That goes a lot towards the 'stupid shit you'll do for your friends' bank.
