Mmmm, love this. You're right, a lot of what Joker does (and Bats too, in his way) resembles worship. Loved the ending until Harley showed up (I'm with you on her--canon Sue's are the worst! I feel the same about Catwoman. They just HAD to assure the world that Bats and Joker were straight herp derp).

Yup, I've considered Batman as Joker's god for a while now. It just makes *sense*, after all Joker's life does pretty much revolve around Batman, for all he inhabits is a symbol that stands to oppose Batman's equally-powerful symbol. Bruce may have his multiple personas/lives/identities, but Joker chooses to only have one, so he's quite irrevocably tethered to the Bat. YAY SUBTEXTY YUMMY GOODNESS!! :D ( ... )

Oh, and one last thing: since you enjoyed "Lessons" so much on FF, thought I'd let you know that...I wrote a sequel, aptly-named "Tests." :D Since Lessons was from Joker's POV, Tests is from Bruce's POV. And it's twice as long as Lessons. And it involves a giant sex scene featuring bottom!Bruce, which I recall you describing as "your own special brand of heroin" XD (same here all the way :).
