I loved this, so no need for brain bleach :)

I never thought about this particular concept. It makes sense, though. It's also kind of romantic since Arkham is where Harls fell in love with him :)

I salute you because only a true JxHQ shipper would manage to find the romance in this - I didn't have room for fluff! 500 words isn't really enough to delve into motivations, so you can read between the lines and see romance or solely self-interest. I choose to see Ivy at the end wondering whether it's worth squealing on them to try to prevent Harley from going all sappy over him again and to annoy Joker - plus maybe some self-preservation since she probably wouldn't like any funny business between the two of them going on in a neighbouring cell...

Thanks for the comment! :D

You do make an interesting point about Joker being too distracted by the outside world to pay Harley any sort of real attention and affection. It makes me sad though that she's happy to have him in Arkham when he treats her so terribly on the outside.

I have no problem with Joker getting it on, except for some reason his partner being Harley kinda makes me want the bleach. Nothing against her, but because she can do so much better and he doesn't deserve her. I'm too used to thinking of him wanting Batman in that way, I guess. ;)

I guess to her kooky Joker-loving neurones a half hour of positive attention on the infrequent basis that he takes time to notice her balances out everything else. Including being thrown out of a balloon. (She is crazy afterall...)

During this little writing spree I did spend some time on another fic that (gasp!) wasn't for the contest; much like something approaching affection from Joker that's a pretty darn infrequent thing to happen. It was pretty lemon-ish and Joker/Harley in nature, but even soppy shipper that I am, Joker was only really getting enthusiastic about matters once Batman was indirectly brought into the equation.

I think most JxHQ shippers still acknowledge that 98% of Joker's attention and efforts are directed to Mr Tall, Dark and Scowling rather than Ms Short, Blonde and Perky. It's a torrid love triangle - there's a reason she wanted Bats eaten by those pirannahs! ;D
