An open letter to Michael Vick

I have it on good authority that you read this LJ (my friend Matt, who has never met you, and while he attended the same college, did not do so while you were still enrolled, said that you do, and he wouldn't lie to me, right?). I would like to make a request

Dude, that last bit is especially hilarious.

And hey, Michael Vick can get the ball directly into the receivers hands, provided that receiver is 35 or more yards downfield. He may suck in the short and medium passing game, but *NOBODY* throws a prettier deep ball than Vick.

Glad you liked it. That was the only reason I could come up with, serious or funny, for Vick being a slash reader.

Honestly, I haven't watched Vick play enough games to judge the prettiness of his deep throws. For the most part, I'm relying on his stats to judge him. One thing about deep throws, though: they rely more on arm strength than accuracy (the receiver going to get the ball is expected on those). I can see why Vick would look better on those throws than the short/medium ones where he is expected to get the ball to the same spot every time.

As for me, I'll be watching the young upstarts. Who knew that I'd be such a Saints fan?

Don't get me wrong, I like to watch the little shrub play, but I don't think he's yet to the excitement level of Vick. I think he could get there, though.
