I don't think that you just do a line. At least not most of the time. I'm pretty sure that you are almost always sedated with a general anesthetic to put you under. Then adrenaline is injected into the nose to reduce bleeding and cocaine is applied as a paste to numb the nose. Anyway, that's what I've read. Close enough that it doesn't really matter, though. I wonder if you asked the doc if you could do a line before going under if he would let you, though.
