Yes! I like this. I've always liked Nell, dammit. I feel for her, particularly how she got thrust into a life she'd been actively trying to leave behind.

yeah... of course, she could still have gone to Metropolis with Lana in tow. I'm not trying to make her into a martyr, just letting her talk a little.

Hm. I need to write more of her being mommish. Or quasi-mommish. The show doesn't seem to think she's really Lana's mother, even though she has a closer tie to Lana than Clark's parents do to him.
