Some fucker smashed my car windows out and left the rock that did it on the dashboard as a smug little "ha-ha, I was in your car." Nothing was stolen but they pulled the stuff out of my dash and arranged it- more showing off/intimidation. Geico says I have a $250 deductible even though it was vandalism ( Read more... )

That's terrible!!! While I'm glad nothing was stolen, there is something even scarier and more intimidating to know that people just did that to damage stuff. Boo on Geico. Big hug to you.

nope just random meanness. i had to park on buena vista across union cause there were no spots closer. someone smashed out an abandoned car there last week. where do you park when all the good spots are taken? the whole thing makes me feel less safe. my hands are all shaky from being back in my own neighborhood.

i guess they all charge a deductible if the glass damage is really extensive. they did send someone out to me on a saturday and he replaced everything and cleaned up the rest of the glass.

I am so sorry--that entirely sucks. One piece of advice: Check the car thoroughly. Last time my car got broken into, turned out the fuckers left a set of keys and a kid's photo under the driver's seat. Must have fallen out of their pockets as they were tearing out the dash. Grrrrr.... but could be something to give the police.

the cops didn't even pretend that they were going to pursue the matter or have anyone patrol the area more even though vandalism has risen sharply on our block in the last few months. Instead they were all "Why you park so far away from your house, girl?" duh.
