Rickrolling is quite possibly the stupidest thing EVER on the internet, and that covers a helluva lotta ground.

You know, The Mets are stupid if they were to actually allow this and not fudge the votes. Metsblog.com is suggesting everyone vote for Meet the Mets, and I'm sure if someone points it out to Stephen Colbert he'll have his own write him campaign.

I'm actually worried that the Mets are going to scrap it entirely and keep Sweet Caroline.

me too. could we not be a cheap knockoff of the sox, please? it takes the inferiority complex a little bit far.

there's no way that the mets are going to get rickrolled. but if they do, i might just have to laugh, even as a fan. although it will get real tired after the first couple games.

Well, it's not a cheap knockoff of the sox, since they have admittedly stolen it from other sports teams. These things tend to get around in general (Who let the dogs out? for instance). But still, must we be subjected to the same song for 81 games? Why not use all 10 songs on the list 8 times(or less, since they don't always play it)

you're right about it being a knockoff of a knockoff - i just think of the sox as being the most well known rendition.

and yeah, you think they could just, you know, change it up every once in a while. if for no one else but staff and season tix holders, even.

I'm the only person who doesn't like this I guess. I'm not even a Mets fan. I don't think it should have been opened up for a vote, but I also think it's kind of petty to Rickroll Mets fans on their last day at Shea.

It's the last season, not the last day, and if they don't want things like this to be possible they probably shouldn't give 'Other' as an option.

I completely agree that putting it up for the vote was a bad, bad idea, but it wasn't up to the fans to put it up for a vote. Yet it's the fans who will get Rickrolled. It's not a tragedy of epic proportions, but I think it's a little petty. That's a lot of Rickrolling, too. Geez. If I had season tickets I'd ask for a partial refund.

It's a song. I don't see what the big deal is.
