It's Bruce's blue collar version of Fitzgerald's Dr. TJ Eckleburg.

There's a giant lighted *Citgo* sign in Boston that's been there for many decades. It became a Boston landmark, and people were upset when they were going to shut it down a few years ago, and somehow it ended up staying up and on...Don't know if there's any connection.
