I've noticed some small things that foreshadowed the failnale. We may have noticed some of them but I forget.

In 7.13 (Tailgate) there is a tombstone that reads "MOTHER".

I miss the community too. This is the first time this year I went into LiveJournal to see what's going on. Like you, I will occasionally check out a HIMYM episode but it's just not the same. CB & CT sure did fool us. I never thought they would break B & R up and kill off the Mother, it made no sense. They ended up sticking with a script they wrote for the finale years prior. They gave us these hints like the Mother tombstone, and people talked about it, but since the storyline went in a totally different direction, it was generally dismissed.
