Oh such a bummer to have to start your game over. At least you were able to save copies of the family and your house (I don't even know how to do that, but now I'm paranoid that could happen to me because it took me forever to build my house and I don't want to start over!). Too bad about losing Ted though. If you make a new Ted and family for your new game is there any way to control both households or do you just lose them to the game the way I did when I had M/L out? (I think I had my M/L move out prematurely and now they're just stuck unemployed and never advancing but I don't think there's any way to fix that.)

Such a good thing that Ellie gets to come with the household because it would be devastating to lose their child. When they have a baby does it just automatically get saved to their family or do you have to do something special like open her up in CAS and save her as an individual sim?

Thanks. First, I'm going to see if some wonky custom content is the problem. I hope that's it, but if not, all is not lost.

I have learned to back up families in different versions. So, in my library, I have B/R/T, Barney and Robin alone, Barney and pregnant Robin, and now Barney, Robin and Ellie. I learned this when I lost a favorite family a generation and a half into legacy play. Also when I lost my all time favorite (non-HIMYM) Sims, Matthew and Jacqueline, and had the worst time trying to re-create them. Finally found an old copy of them in another file, so once I got the right sliders back, all was well.

The family will save when you save and exit the game, but to keep an extra copy, you'd need to go into edit town mode and save a copy of the family to the library.

Ellie's perfect she looks like Robin, then again all baby girls look like Robin even in fanfics. :D

Sorry about your game it's nice you got it back though. :)

Not sure if I got it back yet, but fingers crossed.

Ha, you're right, baby girls do tend to look like Robin, don't they? I think Ellie is a good blend of both parents. I may let them try to give her a younger sibling, to see if they can get a boy. Though Barney as the father of daughters, plural, could be fun.

Did you ever think about having them have twins a boy and a girl?

I should try playing this game, and now I think I can try it since I have the time.

I could make a family with a boy and girl the same age, which would count as twins, and Sims can have twins ingame. Making the mother read pregnancy books, watch kids' tv, listen to kids' radio, etc, can make it more likely she'll have twins, but it can't be gauranteed.
