It is very important that as a writer, you keep very close tab of every submission you send out, whether it be to agents, publishers, magazines, etc. This isn't only for your own sanity, but also for the sanity and scheduling of those people with whom you have sent it to

I've always known you should withdraw partials and fulls, but is it the proper etiquette to withdraw queries too?

I’ve had editors and authors mention it at the later stages, but not the query stage.

Queries could be forgiven, it doesn't take much time to read a short query, but in all actuality it is still time.

That being said, that case in question, was a three chapter submission.
