All Hallows

Halloween is one of the craziest days of the year, every year. It's not just that people like to dress up, it's that when the annual Village Halloween Parade wraps up at 21st Street, every bar south of 72nd Street fills up with crazy people looking to keep their drunk on, dressed up (or down) in wonderfully insane costumes. It's an exhausting, ( Read more... )

As usual, can't wait to read what happens next.

Daylight Savings is my favorite part of Halloween weekend.
Other than that, I loathe Halloween.

However, that whole "tuxedo" ensemble is pretty much hilarious. My family owns a tux shop, that kind of thing amuses us endlessly.

Hope you got a great tip out this weekend!

Won't Daylight Saving Time end in early November starting next year? Won't be nearly as much fun! Up where I am, where liquor sales end at 1am, we don't get the fun extended hours out of it. By the time it hits 2am and is 1 again, everyone's already home.

Todd was talking about that on Saturday night. He thinks we'll still have a great night the Saturday before Halloween, and we might even be able to stretch the fun until the following weekend by just throwing a party strictly for the end of Daylight Saving Time based on the ability to drink for an extra hour. People will latch onto the flimsiest excuse for a drinkfest.

Who needs any excuse?

Halloween on a Wednesday is kinda screwy (really far away) for previous-Saturday celebration. Does that really happen at the bar?

Tell Todd never mind the Saturday, day-of-Halloween, and end-of-DST trifecta... just throw a week-long shindig!

I bet you made some fantastic tips on Saturday night. I couldn't even begin to imagine. I'm glad Vince & Jill had a good time. As for Cassie, I hope everything is okay between her and Olimpio.

the extra hour of drinking is awesome! I was very happy to not be working on Saturday (though tips were great apparently - but sometimes sleep is good too). It must have been daylight when you left! Do you have to stick around to clean up?

I don't do an awful lot of actual cleaning, but I do help close up. The barback does most of the cleaning.
