January Book List (thanks for the reminder, jmcphers)

I was jealous of all the people in December posting their annual tallies of books they'd read. Our friend Nate does his old-school (just like everything he does, I think): a sheet of notebook paper taped on the wall. Most years, he breaks 100 books. I'm not even going to aim for a number, I think. I'll just read and see what happens. :o]

it's a funny introspective sort of thing, reading about writing, hm? reading about literary criticism is even moreso! it was an insightful read, thinking about the way we see the world and understand truth as Christians.

I still haven't read I Capture the Castle, but I know that first line is "I write this sitting in the kitchen sink." I think that must be one of the best first lines of a book ever!

oh, good to know. i have a general policy of not seeing movies of books i enjoy. i'll stick with it. :o]
