Today I thought I really should go and delete my LJ. I haven't used it in years, and I think to myself that having all that old baggage, history and information out on the internet isn't for the greater good with my lifestyle these days ( Read more... )

Cool that you posted again :)

If you do decide to delete it one day it might be an idea for you to save it to your computer so at least you can read old entries and be reminded of the fun stuff you've been up to over the years :-)

I tried so hard to want to delete but I couldn't! Like a hoarder. But then if I did delete, I wouldn't want to save/archive it because I know I'd never read it. It's something about wanting it public, but not public because of all the shit stuff I know is included in it. Ehhh.. history.

Hi mate!

Good to see you around.

I think Livejournal (or any particular blogging platform) is great for setting out goals, uncluttering thoughts, and remembering times passed.

Hope everything is going well, looking forward to reading what you have been up to.

While I do understand the mentality of deleting your history, "letting go of the past", "moving on", etc... I'm of the opinion that you shouldn't need to erase your past to protect or improve your future. If you can't look back on your past and both cringe, smile, but come out of it being happy with the person you are right now, then erasing that history isn't going to make you any happier. That's your life's journey, and honestly, in the grand scheme of things, it's not much. Why get rid of it ( ... )
