It's hard.  Definitely.

I've come to terms with quite a bit in these past weeks.  Today was another step: I had to cut another negative person out of my life.

The last one was not behaving as a true friend.  Therefore, I couldn't spare any more energy on him or with him.

This one was a little different.  He could be a friend, but he didn't respect me

Kudos to you, Jen, for being brave enough to acknowledge the changes in you and your needs! I'm in the middle of a similar situation-taking a good look at a relationship with someone I thought was a real, true friend, I've been forced to admit that this person is far more important to me than I am to them. I'm not quite to the point where I'm ready to cut them out completely (I do still love them, despite how much they've hurt me), but it changes how I look at them and what parts of myself I'm willing to trust them with.

You can give only so much-time, tolerance, love, effort, whatever-without getting some of that back.

If you need a fresh perspective or just a shoulder to cry on/scream at...you know where your Diva Wife lives!

i don't know excatly what our friendship stands as, because i don't see you often and it'll be cut to far less this semester, seeing as im student teaching...

having been said, i think you're a very strong person and a good person. i would consider myself lukcy to have you as a friend. it was lovely seeing you today. and i just want to comment and tell you-i could tell something was different. it a good way, of course, but you were...sparkling or radiating something. you seem genuinely much happier then you did last semetser and it made me happy to see that.

i just thought you should know.
