Love it. SO. MUCH. I always have so much sympathy for Lyle <3 Poor kid, his sister is a genetic freak and his father is a certified bad-ass, so he gets stuck with his mom who can't think about anything other than the previously mentioned daughter and husband? Fail.

This was incredibly creepy and awesome, and I loved the dogs talking to each other about the 'monster'.

Lyle never seems to get a break. Between his freak sister and er, "morally grey" dad and the parade of superpowered psychos showing up at their house, I can't imagine things are going to get any better for him when season 3 rolls around. But then, I like seeing how "normal" people deal with craziness, so bring it on, show.

Thanks for the comment! Writing the dogs was fun. Even more when it ended up not being crack, ironically enough. It was interesting to put VRY SRS THOUGHT into Mr. Muggles' characterisation, heh.

This is absolutely fantastic, even though I'm not that much of a Mr. Muggles fan (for some reason I find him so... creepy), but OMG, a fic about Lyle! They're so rare, but at least this one makes up for quality. The way you described Lyle's feelings at being ignored and pushed aside was great. I also liked how you portrayed his relationship with Claire. Yes, he sees her as self-centred (aren't all big sis like that?) but she still cares enough to save his breakfast (nice detail that one. I'm a sucker for tiny details like that) and warn him about Sylar ( ... )

Lyle fics aren't very common, but most of the ones I've read have been good. It's fun to give the minor characters their turn in the spotlight. Especially since they're involved in the same dangerous, screwed-up world all the main characters are just by association.

Yes, he sees her as self-centred (aren't all big sis like that?) but she still cares enough to save his breakfast (nice detail that one. I'm a sucker for tiny details like that) and warn him about Sylar.

After last season's train wreck, I kind of needed to remind myself why I liked Claire in season 1. And it was interesting to think about the sibling dynamic between she and Lyle, if only for a paragraph or two. It just make sense to tell your little brother to watch out for the guy who tried to murder you.

Even though it was written in the POV of a dog, the scene in the forest in which the poor golden retriever tries to avenge her owner's death was touching and very visual.Glad to hear it came across clearly. I tried to keep it limited to the dogs' POV in that scene, ( ... )

I LOVE IT!

I was just saying today how much I wanted a Sylar/Lyle scene. And you wrote just what I pictured. Wow. Every line of dialogue between those two was fantastic.

Lyle fic is my favorite fic. Thank you!

I'm surprised there HAVEN'T been any Sylar/Lyle scenes among the fics out there. (Not to be confused with, you know, Sylar/Lyle, which would be all kinds of wrooooong. Or crack.)

The dialogue between Lyle and Sylar was a lot of fun to write once I figured out where I wanted to go with it. Lyle trying to be brave, and Sylar being his creepy threatening self, but still managing to play off each other in an interesting way. (Oh daddy issues, where would Heroes be without you?)

Thanks for the comment!

Yeah, so, huuuuge fail on my part for not seeing this post before. Once again, I love your characterization, the narration, the flow of the sentences, and the dialogue. As a big fan of dialogue, I think you nailed it here with the conversation between Sylar and Lyle at the end.

I hope you write more fics of Lyle in the future, especially if you happen to include Sylar with his usual asshatery :D

You already left lots of lovely comments in the beta post, so that's hardly a fail. ;)

I would not be adverse to writing more of Lyle! Gotta feel bad for the kid, getting ignored on top of all the crazy things that keep happening to his family. And yeah, sometimes it's fun to write Sylar just being a complete and total bastard. Especially when he has someone interesting to play it off of. It amuses me way too much that Lyle apparently qualifies for that. X)

Thank you again for the comments and betaing!
