Those wide leg pants would look great in a soft grey pinstripe - with the "stripe" soft muted multicolor. And maybe a wide cuff (is that in for you kids these days? are your legs long enough? I only wear skirts.)

I'm not sure about the skirt. I like the design of it, but I'm bulky around the mid-section, and I'm not sure if this will flatter. I might just stick with a simple pencil skirt, just because I'm also fairly new to sewing (only been at it for about 8 months), and I have a pattern for one already!
The pants pattern actually features a wide cuff at the bottom, but I have short legs, and I'd rather not draw attention to that. :D
I've never been much of a skirt person, but I've been wearing them like crazy this summer, and they're so much fun! But I also know I'm moving back to Manitoba next fall, so I need to make a few pairs of pants too. (-40C + skirts = nononononono!)
