Our grass will stay green all winter (remember, it doesn't get that cold here compared to where you are), but it will definitely be soggy! Mushrooms abound in Oregon. Once the fall rains start, they sprout everywhere. There are a lot of (trained) mushroom hunters here. In the central part of Oregon, matsutake mushrooms are heavily harvested in the forests and sent to Japan.

I love *mushroom hunting* myself. :) It's a comman autumnal hobby for many people here. The best *trophy* is boletus mushrooms, but you need to know places where they grow. I enjoy chanterelles and other different mushrooms. I know however that this past time is considered *exotic* in Europe and I recall I was in Finalnd in September and the forest was FULL of mushrooms and when I offered to pick some, I was looked like I was really bat-crazy. :)
