Can anyone tell me why, when one has all the time in the world, the idea stream is dammed up without so much as a trickle yet when to busy to so much as pick up a pen those same creative juices are released in torrents that threaten drowning?

I'll do you one better. Can anyone tell me why I have to struggle with the basics while I'm at the keyboard, but they flow as soon as I'm behind the wheel of the car and can't write them down?

And since the ideas never flow as smoothly from my mouth as they do through my pen, having a dictation app on my phone doesn't help!
