Voting. Again

Sigh.

We had a State election in March, and now we've got the local council elections (mayoral) today. I wouldn't mind but it's rainy & depressing out today.

The downside to compulsory voting, I guess. Still, I prefer this to a voluntary one as you actually get everyone submitting their vote rather than just a vocal minority.

compulsory voting should be compulsory in every single country that has the right to vote.

You'll get no argument from me! I hate the idea that a minority of people can effectively decide who controls a country, and seeing all the bullshit that goes on in the States to try to block people from voting just makes me glad I don't live there.

Then again, Australia's a very different country. Our PM is an athiest woman living with a man she isn't married to ... in the US I doubt they'd even allow her to run for public office.
