I want to know your take on Sam not looking for Dean!

Stay tuned! (Long story short? I think he did, but absolutely couldn't get anywhere, and made the reasonable choice not to obsess on the impossible ...)

So Earth is the fifth element, wherein the other four (Hell = water, Heaven = fire, Purgatory = earth, "Limbo" = air?) collide?

And your Word of God idea explains why Crowley would grab Kevin, too. Assuming he could translate all the tablets. (I haven't rewatched the episode, but memory suggests Kevin was activated for that specific tablet.)

I think I like your theory. It makes a lot of sense.

What d'you think the title card'll look like this year? Just for kicks.

Thanks! Earth seems to be the portion of creation about which all the others circulate ... and perhaps collide and coexist. Maybe. *grin*

On Kevin - I tend to think a prophet, once activated, could read any of the Words of God: I wouldn't think his translation ability was limited to a single tablet. Each tablet may have a designated guardian who could be awakened when the tablet came to light, but it might also be that an already living, breathing prophet would simply be driven to acquire the next tablet as he had been compelled to do with the first.

Or not!

I can't venture a guess on the title card. I'd never have been right in the past, and while my imagination is pretty wild, it's never been particularly visual. I'm more concepts and words than images. :) Although ... I might think in terms of *light*. We've had lightning, fire, wings, blood, black goo, more ... Maybe it's time for something bright and potentially positive.

Thanks for coming and commenting!

Very interesting meta. I appreciate that you do this kind of analysis. And you make it work. My POV on this is that the writers are just not always consistent over time. Partly because individual members of the writers' group change and partly because when they need something to happen in a certain way, they will do it that way even if it is inconsistent with a previous understanding. They're usually consistent within a season but not not too consistent season to season.
