I didn't realize how much I had missed these until I saw this and was filled with pure joy. :D Wonderful little picture here. Fics of the past always make me feel so melancholy, but it's so worth it for the goodness of the story. :D

I'm so glad you enjoyed this! I'm really hoping to have a bit more time to devote to writing again; the last year and a half have been insane.

I know what you mean about the melancholy. I'm hoping to capture joy as well, and to play with the rich canvas of secondary characters the show has referenced over time. And the real-world history and the music ... these things are fun to research, relive, and write!

I love how you used the imagery here to tie up with Mary's attempt to reconcile with her true self.

Fabulous.

Thank you! I love playing with Mary's secret life and exploring the stress it put on her open one; I'm glad I'll have a few more Impala years to explore her relationship with John and her sons.

Hello! I've never posted here before but I've been reading your stories for the past 2 years. I was very excited to see this new one & it did not disappoint. I like how you've tied the events of each story to the year in which it occurs, as well as your memories of what was going on in your own life. I can remember dressing in a colonial costume to march in a parade that 4th of July. I'll be looking forward to the next one!

Thanks for decloaking and saying hello, and I'm very glad you've been enjoying my stuff! Here's hoping I can wrangle the time to write more ... and with less elapsed time between tales! :)
