Original Ficlet, anyone?

This one is set in what I am tentatively calling the Aspects universe, and stars Sha-Dache, Tora, and Kaz.  Aspects is a fantasy universe  which at least starts out here in a vaguely medieval setting, albeit one that does not follow our exact timeline.  (For one thing, the existence and common acceptance of magic changed quite a few things.  More ( Read more... )

Hee, the fun of sleepless editing!

Poor crispified mage. Being made to see such terrible archery! I especially liked how you show them being great at stringing the bow. Then useless at using it :D

You didnt post the middle bit of a 3 part story first. You're writing in media res :D

And just look at all those typos...l3

He never got over the experience. It was tragic. XD Wakes up in the middle of the night just screaming "Put the damn arrow down this instant, you're embarrassing us aaaaaaaaalll!"
Poor Tora...he's all muscle and no skill. But he's trying really hard to improve!

I'm deliberately trying to avoid the Instant Expert trope, so most of my characters have to struggle a bit to learn new stuff. XD Sha gets hit hard by this one...every time he tries to learn/create a new spell, he usually screws it up really badly at least half a dozen times before getting it right. His team mates have taken to only watching his practice sessions from behind blast shields.

:O...I mean, um, EXACTLY! I'm not being scatterbrained, I'm being ARTSY!

I think the first line being duplicated is the best one :D Just because you start reading and bam!

It wasn't so much that he stopped having nightmares, more that he kept having nightmares about Tora's archery skill :p

It's nice to see characters have to actually learn. Rather than just "ohai, I have these leet skills now"

Yes! It's amazing how often the two get confused really.
