A Month of Photos - Day 30

This was by far the worst picture I've taken all month. I have run out of interesting things to photograph, and this picture shows it. This is the front porch of the neighbors across the street. G was making fun of the way it looks like they ran out of white lights midway, and just threw on some multi-colored lights just so they could finish. Since ( Read more... )

do you have the ISO 3200 setting on your camera? It's great for night shots, but they will come out kinda grainy. Sometimes the night portrait shot works well for regular night shots too. I tried fireworks shot for christmas lights, but you have to hold super still.

we had a super windy day that blew all of our vertical lights off the wall, and smashed most of them against the bricks repeatedly so... i'd call that a christmas light fail too. we had these cool round bulbs too, that made the house look like a gingerbread house with gumdrops. we'll either have to figure out a better way to secure them to the sides of the house, or just take them down before we have 35 mph sustained winds.

oh yea, our neighbor did the same thing with the colored/white lights, but after a day or so he fixed them. (thank god, 'cause i would not want to look at that all season!)

I'll have to look up that setting in my manual because it isn't familiar. Thanks for the tip!
