-we gave blood again today! well, we donated platelets. it's a fairly uncomfortable way to spend two hours, but it's nice to feel like my existence isn't totally going to waste. plus i read a little bit. what didn't you like about wrinkle in time? (not to cue a rant, just curious).

i thought the characters were all unlikeable, the story made no sense, the writing did not hold up over time AT ALL, and the pacing was terrible. the characters being unlikeable is the big one for me, since everything else would have been more or less forgiven had i read this when i was 11 and had less discerning taste. but the only characters i could even vaguely relate to were the twins, and they were basically written off as dumb.

(I think you're WRONG about a Wrinkle in Time but since you mentioned the twins I have to tell you.)

OMG THERE IS THE BEST SEQUEL EVER ABOUT THE TWINS!

I adored Wrinke in Time as a kid and shot through all the sequels, too. My favorite BY FAR is the book that centers on the twins-among other things, it involves Noah's ark (and mentioned for you) unicorns.

Seriously, I love those books, but they are pretty heavy on the theoretical physics so it's no wonder really. (Also, I like Meg but can understand why other people might not.)

What do you think about the line: "The only water in the forest is the River"? Is it plain too obvious to be referring to River Song? But if it is, then what does it mean to say about her? Is she a gateway between worlds like the water was last episode?

(I don't read spoilers, and don't know if you do, so hopefully this isn't crossing a line?) :)

i think it probably is about river, but i'm not sure what it could mean! i don't read spoilers, but i read speculation / all the crazy little hints they keep dropping on the dw website. i need to watch the new video thing but i don't have sound at work :/
